So lately, Allyson has been telling me that Bathtime is Over by standing up, pointing to her potty chair, and saying: "Pee?" So I take her out of the tub, dry her off, and sit her on the chair, where she stays for approximately three seconds before she gets up and makes a run for it.
Tonight, she stands up, points to the potty chair, and says: "Pee?" So I take her out, dry her off, and sit her on the chair. She sat there for a relatively long time. Which I thought was odd, for her. Then she stood up. And I saw that she peed in the potty!
I made a really big deal out of it. I cheered, I clapped, I called Ben in to look at it, we both gave her kisses and told her we were proud of her. Then we emptied it into the toilet and waved bye-bye as we flushed.
It's a step forward, at least. But I am THRILLED.
What I am not so thrilled about: Bedtime these days. For the last week she has thrown a fit whenever we put her in the crib. A couple of times, she got herself so worked up that she made herself throw up. Blergh.
Today, she did not nap for my grandmother. I decided that given our problems lately, instead of making bedtime half an hour earlier (as we usually do when she doesn't nap), I would make bedtime half an hour later. And she went right to sleep tonight. Huh.
But now, I am looking for low-or no-cost things to do with Ally on my two days off. We can only go to the park so many times.
