Went to the doctor today. And, yep: She totally flipped. But not as much as the last time.
She is perfectly healthy. Tall for her age (35"), and right on track with weight (25 lbs 5oz), despite the fact that she eats like a bird. Last time, when they told us she was caught up on shots until she's four? Lies! Damn dirty LIES. She only had to get one shot today (pneumococcal conjugate, which prevents meningitis or something), and she got a Dum-Dum sucker out of the deal, so that was okay.
Do you ever lie to your kids about shots hurting? My mom used to tell us all the time, "It's not going to hurt a bit." Then we'd get mad because, hi! That hurt. So I cannot bring myself to lie to Allyson about the shots. I told her: "It is going to hurt, but just a little." And the nurse thanked me for not lying to her. I figure, if something is going to hurt, just tell me so I don't get mad about it hurting later. And I figure Allyson would like the same courtesy extended to her.
And now, to figure out lunch. I don't suppose I could eat pie for lunch, could I?
