And I changed the name of the blog, too.
Back at the end of May, I became jobless. There is really no good way to say that, is there. "Lost my job" implies that I put it down someplace and can't find it now. Probably next to my keys. "Between jobs" is probably a nice way to say it. But, long story short: Office politics came into play and I got fired. There.
So while looking for a job (or waiting for a long-lost rich relative to die and leave me a bunch of money), I've been doing the stay-at-home mom bit. It's interesting, so far. Trying to come up with things for us to do together has been rough. And don't even ask about the potty training.
July is our Month of Birthdays (tm). Ben and his grandma had theirs on the 4th, Ben's mom was the 6th. Mine was yesterday. And Allyson's is on the 28th. We have most of the stuff ready for her party - I am so excited. Probably because I have never really had a birthday party. The closest I came was when I went drinking and bowling with some friends for my 21st. Ah, good times.
I had a pretty good birthday, though. Ben's folks got me a Keurig! Ben got me iPod speakers and a Walmart gift card (which I will likely use to buy more K-cups). And my dad and stepmom got me a $50 Starbucks gift card, which is REALLY SWEET.
The two things I didn't get? A potty-trained toddler, and Starbucks to start delivering. Ben took the van to work today and I am totally jonesing for a Green Tea Latte.
