Seven days until school starts back up.
I am totally counting down.
I love Allyson. LOVE her. With all my heart. I'd do anything for her.
But we are at the point of summer break where, when people ask if she's ready for school to start back up, I answer. We are at the point where she is standing three feet away from me and talking about her progress in her video game (Pikmin 3). That wouldn't be so bad but it gets her really excited, and she has one volume when she's really excited.
I love her. But I am ready for a break.
I know that, next Monday, I am going to send her to school and I will tear up. My baby is going to be in third grade. It will be her last year at the wonderful K-3 school she's had the privilege of attending. I'll be sad but I won't have time to think about it (I have an eye appointment AND a dental cleaning both scheduled on Monday). And I'll be anxious to hear about how her first day of school went. How her teacher is. Who she played with at recess.
But, for now, is it the 22nd yet?!
In other school news, Ben is currently at the local community college for his first night of class. He is going back to get his associates' degree in programming. This will be great for our family. I am so proud of him.
