Random Hap'nins

Also known as, "I'm babysitting my niece because my mom is out of town but she's in bed now and I'm stuck here until Dan or Tasha comes back and I'm bored":

Allyson is involved in our church's Quizzing program. They had their first competition yesterday. A lot of the kids did really well - mostly gold medals, a few silver. Allyson got an individual bronze medal. Her Quizzing director says that most kids don't even medal at all in their first-ever competition, so for Ally to get a bronze is really an accomplishment. I am so proud of her!

Ben's classes are still going well. His instructor is impressed with him, because he seems to be the only student in his Visual Basic class that has even half a clue what's happening. That was the class where the instructor sent everyone an email and said that only one student got everything on an assignment correct and got some extra credit as a result. Ben spent entirely too long racking his brain trying to figure out what he'd missed. Then he looked at the grades... and found out that he was the student that got everything correct.

Work is work. It's...okay. I like my job and for the most part the people I work with. I surely miss Kmart though. Last night a bunch of us from the Big K got together (for a little "family reunion" of sorts). It was super-fun and I missed all of those guys. Even Kraig, the former assistant store manager (As Matt put it: "We don't work together anymore so we like him now"). It was so nice to get together, catch up, and trade "war stories."

We have a 504 meeting tomorrow morning with Allyson's teacher, principal, and occupational therapist. I am honestly just hoping for the best, at this point.

Oh, and: I am a Cardinals fan, but for seven games? I was a Cubs fan. And now I'm in love with Anthony Rizzo, don't tell Ben. (Italian dudes just do it for me, I guess.)
