Wow, the last time I posted was exactly a month ago.

So, you might be asking (or you might not, but go with me), how is potty training going?

My answer: *convulses with laughter*

It's not going, that's how it's going! I've gotten her to the point where she will sit on the chair with no diaper... and that's about it. The time she grabbed a magazine and sat down was pretty hilarious. But you know what? I'm not going to sweat it. She won't be 2 for another couple of months, so I have time.

We also traded in my car last week. I'd driven a 1998 Chevy Malibu for, oh, nine years. It was a good little car, but starting to give me fits. So we traded it in and got a 2006 Ford Freestar. That's right, kids, a minivan! I always swore I would never drive one, and now I'm driving one. It's pretty awesome, so far - air conditioner actually works on a setting lower than 4, it starts up on the first try, the speakers are pretty good and I actually get AM radio in it. Plus, so far, I haven't bumped Allyson's head on the door frame once.

Allyson has learned a couple of new words. Everything with wings is called a "bee." Just today, we were watching SuperWHY (well, she was; I can't stand that one) and they were unlocking a door; they showed the key up close and she pointed to the screen and yelled "KEYS!" And she also has been running around yelling "pee." I thought it meant she had to pee; I finally figured out she's trying to say "play" because today she yelled this while pointing at the playground equipment at the park.

She is also in the midst of a self-imposed Nap Embargo right now. How joyous. Seriously, it's not a real big deal because that just mean she goes to bed half an hour earlier than normal.

One of these days, I will get to stop changing diapers.
