It has been so beastly hot out lately. Like averages in the low to mid-90's. Currently: 66 degrees, high of 78. 78! We opened up all the windows yesterday (except for the one in Allyson's room - for some reason when we do that it turns her room into a wind tunnel, regardless of whether or not it's actually windy outside). Any chance we get to turn off the air conditioner and save a little on our electric bill (it hasn't been CILCO for years and I still call it that) is fine by me.
Today's Cough Drop Wisdom: Be unstoppable. In bed. Yep, still 12.
The only potty training book my library had on the shelf was something to the effect of, Potty-Train Your Non-Stubborn Child By Their 1st Birthday! (Actual title may be different.) Well, my stubborn kid is three, so that ship has sailed.
She'll get it one day. I need to quit obsessing. My mother, after claiming that she has no idea how old I was when I learned, finally admitted that I was almost three and a half when I got it and that it apparently took me forever. Gee, Mom, that information would have been handy earlier.
I think a trip to the park is in order today. Trying to see if my friend Joye wants to meet us with some of her kids (her oldest is 16; her youngest is 4 and she's got two in the middle). If not, we'll go anyway. It's too nice out to stay in all day (even if I am hacking up a lung).
I want to take a nap! The Little Alarm Clock was very gracious and let me sleep all the way to 6:20 this morning. The coffee is very slow to kick in. Blergh.
