This is it.

Four and a half years at Kmart officially ends at 9pm tonight.

As I've said before, I will absolutely miss my co-workers. This job has not just provided me with the skills necessary for future career advancement. It's provided me with lifelong friends.

You know how you see something and it reminds you of a person? I have that, with several people I work with.

Dr Pepper will always make me think of Jerry, our store manager. He brought a mini-fridge from home that he kept in an unused office upstairs and stocked it with his favorite drink. He was always enthusiastic and fair. One of the best managers I've ever worked for.

Owls will always make me think of Kira. She's studying art therapy right now. She's been through a lot in her young life but is walking through it with her head up. Her paintings are just gorgeous; she has more talent in her pinky toenail than I have anywhere ever.

Sharks will always make me think of Alex. She's giggly and tiny and cute, but also headstrong and knows what she wants out of life.

Luke Bryan will always make me think of Missy. Missy is one of the strongest people I know - born with cerebral palsy, last couple of months she's worked through a fractured pelvis. All with a smile on her face.

Purple will always make me think of Patty. She tells everyone that I was the first friend she made at Kmart. Before she got hired on, she started a layaway; I was almost always the one to wait on her. Her husband had just fallen off their roof and had been injured; she would come in, make her payment, and vent. And I would just listen. Now Patty is one of my dearest friends.

Batman will always make me think of Stephanie. She's a lot like me - sarcastic, but will drop anything to help you. She is one of my best work friends.

Waffles will always make me think of Makenna, because Steph and I got her a waffle maker for her high school graduation.

Harry Potter and The Nightmare Before Christmas will always make me think of Jade. She just graduated college with dual bachelors' degrees in Psychology and Criminal Justice. She's hard-working and has a wicked sense of humor.

Tie-dye will always make me think of Emily. She's been through a lot too, including a marriage that basically exploded, but the one thing she clings to is her faith in God. She has been one of my greatest champions during my faith walk.

Captain America will always make me think of Amy (Missy's sister). If Amy and I weren't born two years apart to different mothers, she could have been my twin. I've never met anyone more like me, personality and interests-wise. She's the only one of my co-workers that actually gets my obscure pop culture references.

I could go on and on.

I'm going to miss my family.
